With the Paris Agreement coming into force, and the associated commitment of 197 nations around the world, including the European Union, to limit global warming to well below 2o C. Cities, supported by city networks, are rising to meet these challenges, and are making bold commitments to act, in many cases even more ambitious than those made by national governments.
To provide a city-driven perspective, UN Habitat and Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy (GCoM) is organizing INNOVATE4CITIES virtual global and regional event. UN-Habitat, Pakistan invites you to be part of on 12th October 2021 Session on “Developing Enabling Environment for urban low emission development under Paris agreement: upgrading conditions in urban slum areas”.

The purpose of the session is to demonstrate the importance of GHG emission reduction in urban areas and how to support urban slums environment and living condition improvement with greening cities. The session will explore the innovative development for GHG emission reduction in cities, especially urban slums based on situation analysis and needs assessment on the ground with relevant stakeholders in Pakistan. The session will bring together representatives from the project partner and the Government of Pakistan as well as local NGOs and CSOs.
