The 24th World Habitat Day Children’s Drawing Contest
Every year, the United Nations observes World Habitat Day on the first Monday of October to reflect on the state of our towns and cities, and on the basic right of all people to adequate shelter. It is also a day to remind the world that we all have the power and responsibility to shape the future of our communities.
In celebration of this important occasion, the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) is organizing the 24th World Habitat Day Children’s Drawing Contest for grade 4-6 students. The contest provides children a platform to express their ideas and dreams about a better home and city through art.
We are pleased to invite your school to participate in this competition under the theme: “My ‘Home’ and My ‘City’”. Students are encouraged to use their imagination and creativity to depict what an ideal home and livable city means to them—places that are safe, inclusive, and vibrant. The aim is to foster creativity while building awareness among children about the importance of sustainable and inclusive communities.
